Hi all, my Boomer Deluxe 250 has not been used for decades. I want to get I checked out to make sure it's in proper operating order. Does anyone noe where I can send it in to get it checked out?
Thanks
If it's the one I remember, it has two MRF454 transistors. It's not like the tube-type amplifiers and should not be risky to just hook up and try. Naturally the power supply has to be big enough, like 25 Amps or more. Making sure every coax connector in line is secure and doesn't make scratchy noises in the receiver when the coax is flexed. A coax connector with a flaky connection to the shield braid can drive up the SWR and clobber it.
