I was going through my office closet today and found an old Browning Baron that I forgot I had. I remember buying it a number of years ago because it was a good price and this radio looks mint. How did this Baron stack up against the competition of its days? I may send this in for a tune up and see what it will do.

Not the most capable chassis ever made... Has more collector value then it has practical. Had a few years ago, transmit was average, receive not much better. If it were mine I would sell it to a collector, and replace it with a 148GTL/Grant XL and pocket the difference. Either way its worth much more with no mods...

Ok...thanks for the info.

I have one. Actually, two of them. But only one is in mint condition.

I have one here like new. It is nothing spectacular, but typical NDI SSB chassis. Similar to several other name brand radios, EF Johnson, SBE Tram, etc
