I'm all for learning. Not exactly cheap nor easy to do without making some costly mistakes. But you might consider getting a used amp or even a RM Italy amp for $65/new. That is pretty cheap!

I have to agree buy the RM amp open the cover up Take a look inside and then decide if amp building is for you... Put the amp in line and expirment..Watch your input wattage they like it low 1 to 2 1/2 watts check out the amp picks and schematics online also.
