Hi all, im new to this site buthad a quick look through it and seems like theres loads of help here for beginners like myself, anyway my 1st question is i have been given an 80channel ROTEL 240 rig.can anyone tell me what the reports are like on these rigs...many thanks............CHRIS_53
 

hello chris, the rotel was a popular uk fm radio with an early cybernet board a kind of stopgap radio they launched based on earlier am radios with lots of different brandnames before they designed a dedicated fm board, they are a 40ch rig so youres has been converted, i am a uniden fan but plenty of people bought the cybernet radios back in the early 80's and theres still a few of them around.

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
