Can I use Yaesu 8800r as mobile repeater?

I have the 8800r in my RV and use GMRS freqs for communication with handheld units and motorcycles intercoms. I know that the 8800r can cross band repeat, but can I use the 8800r as a repeater within the same frequency (with standard offsets) to extend the range of the handhelds? The handhelds are Midland GXT740, and claim to be able to use offsets for repeater use. The question I have is how to setup the 8800r as a repeater with these offsets. the 8800r manual only covers the issue of cross band repeating.

No, the radio can only do cross band repeat. Technically it's illegal to use that radio with GMRS since it is not certified for that use.
