Channel expansion, +10 KHz and power increase for Midland 8001 XT

Midland 8001 XT

Has anyone actually done this mod?
What exactly do these jumpers do?
I have followed these instructions exactly on my own new 8001 and it no longer modulates on FM, SSB and AM work great.
I am going to chage back and check it

I am trying to find a mod for the AMC on the 8001XT.

After finding out the AM MOD pot did nothing, I noticed a wire poorly soldered to both the base and emitter of a SMD transistor Q209 (it looks like they intended to solder it to only the base) and that wire leads to the emitter of a C945 and other through hole components attached around Module 102 (ALC according to schematic). I would like to remove this mod, if there is a procedure out there I could follow, it would make it a bit easier knowing if anything my eyes can't see was done.

Thanks!

edit: nevermind. I think all that through hole stuff was from the factory because the C945 had glue on it matching the rest of the glue in the radio. I reflowed the SMD transistor to remove the solder bridge and the AMC pot behaved normally.
