Put Lipstick on a Pig & it's still a Pig.I use Dosy,PDC,Palomar,& other useless brands of these cheap wattmeters as targets at the firing range just so they will have been useful for something before they hit the landfill.I get them sometimes with estate items so I may make good use of them RIGHT? They are a Huge waste of good money & time when for the price many of them cost a real PEP Reading wattmeter with an SWR meter built into it may be had.I hate seeing people waste good money of trash but some folks insist when a far better product can be had for the same money or less.

Meter brand aside, I think it's a pretty cool idea.

Honestly I would have like something like that when I was running a HF mobile, tuning the screwdriver would have been easier with the meter there. If course I picked up a Auto-Tune and didn't need the meter anymore .

I totally agree! Dawia makes good true pep reading meters but most cber's insist on dosey, workman and the like. When I see that Dosey with the glued on frequency counter and how much it costs I could only laugh to myself. I bought a workman when I got back on the air. Only because I didn't know any better. A little education and installing the wwDX fourm goes a long way. I use two Autek wm1's. I also have an mfj true pep reading meter. The mfj didn't work from day one and the company insisted it did when I sent it in for repair. A friend eventually straighten it out for me. And it actually works very well. Now. It always surprises me when I watch a YouTube video presented by someone who seems like they know what they're doing after rebuilding an amplifier and then creating a YouTube video to show how it performs. Only to be surprised when the camera scans up to the Dosey meter.
