Chinese cb base antenna

i bet it is a knock off of several cb antennas of the past,, since mfj has went belly up the metal 10 meter wink wink antenna has shrunk some,, i am betting it has the loading coil on a circut board inside bottom, like the clr and rat shack models,, 300 hundred watts was pushing it,, i own a radio shack crossbow .64 and some one had burned up the loading circut coil up and i made a stronger and a lot better one for it

Aluminum 1/2 wave for $32.08 with economy shipping. Should be fine for a barefoot radio. Same model as the Amazon links above.

If you've got $7500 (plus shipping) you can order 100 of them with whatever logo you want on them.

Looks like $77.87 to me for one piece shipped to the US. The antenna is a POS anyway, why bother.

LOL when I made the original post, the economy shipping was $8.02... Obviously, it changes.

Why bother? I talked to a person in DX land that was buying 2 CB bases, one for his grandson and one for the grandson's friend so they could talk to each other a mile apart and not have try to use walkie talkies. This antenna would be ideal for that situation. And at the initial price of $32.08 or the current price of $32.07 (at least to me), cheaper than pretty much any other solution...

I know a guy down here (202 Richard in Floresville Texas on LSB 395) that uses 2 of them (one on the base, one at the office), shoots skip and talks local all day and night long and loves them. According to him, they tune well, are fairly broadband, and are throwaway. If it breaks - buy another one. He runs 150 watts into his.

I talk to him every night out of my barefoot Q6pro mobile - 50 miles as the crow flies...

He just setup one antenna (office), but the other one (base), has been up for a few years and working fine.

  • @ Deon:
Good day, I have an Icom IC910H radio. I want to program a memory with split frequency tone on TX only and NO tone on RX,. Is this possible to do from the face of the radio? I don't have the interface to connect to a computer.
  • @ crappykraco:
@Deon very unlikely to get a response here. You are better off starting a thread on the topic.
