it's too bad rf limited sold the rights to the ar3500 (even sadder that no one else revived it). that radio was ahead of its time.

Who were the rights sold to? Clear Channel Corp. is the original owner of the Ranger AR series, not RCI.

I had a Ar3500 100wt. model with all the bells. Speech Compressor ( pull out knob ) I truly miss this radio. I honestly believe this was the best radio i ever had. Better than a RCI-2900 series. And i have owned a lot of RCI radios.

absolutely no relation to rci. swan/siltronix/palomar was the origin of clear channel/rf limited. i don't remember if the lewis family actually sold the rights to the ar3500, or they expired & bob/bob's cb purchased some of what he developed for the ar-series radios, the remainder going to china. i think. i've forgotten more illicit cb info then i should have ever known.
