After about 6 months of badgering by the Dealer, I finally ordered a Clearspeech II speaker and installed it in my Jeep the other night.

THIS THING IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!

First off, it takes a little listening to get used to it because it sounds a little processed. (It is processed, after all). But then you realize that most of the ignition noise, fuel pump noise, outside interference, etc. is being digitally filtered out when speech comes through, and you're just amazed. It works great on AM, and just shines on SSB. I also used this speaker for a night on the base, and it was fantastic there, too. I think I'm going to be putting all my Motorolla, Ranger, Cobra, and other speakers up for sale now. This Clearspeech speaker is the best $150 I've ever spent on radio equipment.

Now..........tell me.........will one of these erase the incredible noise I RX with my Delta Force on SSB in the big truck? No prob with AM, just SSB. If so count me in!

Got rid of most of the ignition noise out of my Magnum 257. It didn't get rid of all of it, but most. You should definately do it.

jdchet,

I'm not running my Delta in the KW right now, but I have. I run the Magnum power line filter and the ClearSpeach speaker with it and any radio I run in the KW.

(Not the speaker any longer, but I took the DSP board out of the speaker, made a plexi-glass box for it, and just plug a louder speaker into it...still the same thing. Reason, speaker was too low level in the KW.)

As far as SSB and the CS speaker on the Delta, it's got too much noise to deal with where it isn't going to make a $150 difference. Will it make enough difference where you can use SSB in the truck, yes, but still your not going to be able to hear stations way out there. Now with any other radio, including a RCI 2950/70, it makes a HUGE difference! On AM with the Delta it makes a big difference!

I've started running more SSB with another driver and that's why I'm not running the Delta now...and that's with the CS speaker.

I got mine used that was only about a week old for $75... would I buy it again at full price, YES, best thing I've ran across for radio!!!

At www.amcominc.com/ they have a demo that you can listen to it on/off. They also have a 30 day money back if you don't like it, so you have nothing to loose if you don't like it. Would I try it if I were you, yes.

BTW, are you running one of the Magnum power line filters? That will make the biggest difference with the Delta over anything! It takes out alt wine 100%, plus a lot of other noises that radio gets.

Mr Gnome, where can I get the Magnum power line filter?

Thanks, Hossless

You can get one at H&Y for $24! I just got one last month and it was the Best $25 bucks i ever spent! It works VERY WELL, i have gotten 8 of them and started selling them local to a few friends and truckers and they thought they had hitten the jackpot with this thing! GET ONE, and be amazed on how your engine noise just disappear!

Bobby, do you have a link to those filters on HY's site? I searched the whole thing and couldn't find 'em.

Thx,

Moleculo

Thanks Mr Gnome! I am running a Magnum power line filter to get rid of the alternator noise. Looks like the Galaxy 77 is going back in the big truck! Too bad 'cause the Delta has so many great features and sounds real good too, but the RX noise on SSB is too much to take! Man this radio would prob. make a smokin' base radio! Oh well.........

This Clearspeech speaker sounds too good to be true.

Will this also greatly reduce the noise (fuel pump, alt) coming in from the antenna? That is where most of my noise problems are coming through. 'Cause if it will work in this situation, then I'd rather spend $150 on the speaker then $100

on the filtering done by Ford. This way I can put it to work in the big truck also.

Thanks, Hossless

Well, I took the plunge and ordered a ClearSpeech ll speaker.

If it eliminates half of that nasty pump noise coming in through my antenna, I'll be elated!!

MrGnome, if it doesn't work (which I suspect it will), they give a money back guarantee.

Thanks, Hossless

Question for Mr Gnome, please.....

I am just curious as to why You removed the board from

the ClearSpeech speaker because of the fact that it has a output jack on the back of it that allows you to plug in a additional speaker ??

BTW,for anyone that is reading this and thinking, Hummmmm....

maybe a headphone there, NO dont do that unless you are prepared to risk a hearing loss.

Also I just got back from Ham Com, and the vendor that sells the

ClearSpeech speaker " Am Com" has a new version for the base

that also includes a large Box speaker with the DSP already in

it for 199.00 or you can buy the base model with the DSP in it

and no speaker for the same price as the mobil unit for 159.00...

I have mine, which is a mobil one on a power plug that powers my cell phone and it also. I have on occassion taken it inside to use on the base...

Great Product........ not perfect but what is

Best Regards,

John
