Club Callsign usage Policy & Procedures

GUIDELINES For use of club’s call – W9WDX

1. It is the intent of the Worldwidedx.com Amateur Radio Club to have an orderly, legal, and non-restrictive set of procedures and rules for the use of the club callsign – W9WDX.
2. Prior to applying for use of the club’s callsign, the applicant must be a member in good standing.
3. The applicant must abide by all current FCC Rules and Regulations while using the club’s callsign. The applicant must be familiar with control operator Rules and Regulations.
4. By law, a club callsign has no operating permissions on it's own. The frequency privileges available to the control operator's license class or other control operators present are the privileges in force during the usage of the club callsign.
5. While operating using the club callsign, the control operator should regularly (every 10 minutes) include their own callsign in the format of W9WDX/MYCALL.
6. Applications may not be submitted more than 30 days in advance of the anticipated use date(s).
7. A club sponsored event (approved by the Board) will always take precedence over other applications to use the club callsign.
8. Usage of the club callsign is on a first requested basis. Only one usage reservation per day will be granted.
9. The maximum time for a reservation of the club’s callsign is 7 consecutive days. Special permission to extend this limit may be granted on a case by case basis.
10. With exception for club repeaters and use by the club trustee, no usage of the club callsign without reservation is allowed.
11. If there is an infraction of the FCC Regulations, use of the club’s callsign must cease immediately. A full written report must be made to the club Trustee within 7 days of the incident. The applicant will be liable for all fines or sanctions and will reimburse the club for monies spent in the defense arising out of the infraction.
12. Once permission is granted and the event is completed, the user must post a log of stations worked. It is the club’s intention to make all contact with W9WDX public on the Worldwidedx.com website.

Procedures

1. A sticky thread in the club section will contain the current reservation list for the club call. Check the reservation list to make sure the dates you wish to use the callsign are available.
2. Send a PM to one of the club Officers (Moleculo, Happy Hamer, Audioshockwav) requesting the reservation dates. Make sure to include your own callsign and place or location where you will be using the callsign.
3. Once granted, the club Officer will update the sticky reservation thread.
4. After the reservation / event has completed, post the log of your contacts in the club forum as a new thread.
