I have been running Cablexperts 1318FX for a while now and have had very good service from it,fairly flexible, good stuff. I have used Belden 9913 in the past, but you have to be careful to keep the radius of the bends large, if you kink it, the center conductor will shift inside the cable(another problem with air core)...then you have a impedance bump in the line, good foam core is better IMHO.

Hello all..

there are many posts regarding antennas..

so i will adress a often over looked nessesity..

Many of us understand the need for coax..

But many realise this is a area nearly as importent as the antenna..

while in some instances can even be more importent..

There are times one may be able to get away with going the cheep way...other times not...

The further run of feedline and or the higher the frequency one uses..the more importence there is on coax feedlines..

also those who run more power can greatly benifit from good coax..

even the connectors one uses can have different benifits..

RG-9

RG-58

RG-213

LMR-400 (supposed entry into the good stuff)

LDF5-50A Heliax (some of the truly good stuff)

come on ... lets here some of the Pro's and Con's

Obviously i am refering to base station use..
