I recently purchased a cobra 135xlr in great shape clock doesn't work but it receives but doesn't transmit clicks when the mic is keyed is there a simple fix or bigger problem nothing looks blowed inside

First thing to do is locate a spare radio, a coax jumper and power to run the spare.

Plug on end of the coax jumper into your "monitor" radio. Thread the plug on the other end's outer sleeve backwards over the cable. This will expose the center pin of the plug. It is now your "sniffing" antenna.

Key the mike on the 135XLR, and see if you hear anything on the monitor receiver. If you don't be sure to try AM and SSB both.

Hold the sniffing antenna near the transmit circuits and see if it hears anything.
