Only schematic i know of that has the 7809 regulator, the others use either a mb3756 or a 2sa473.

If you buy a new 148 can it be made useable on am and ssb? what does it take?op:

I would take that for a no. If one showed up in the mail new in the box for free. how far could you go with proper equipment and not removing or adding parts.

if you do not try to peak it for as much power as you can get out of it they work fair on ssb. am is not bad. ssb tends to warble a little if you peak it to much.
