Hello all I am new to the forum and I have an issue i am stumped on I have a 148 gtl fand the mic gtain has no effect at all. I can turn it down and it is still wide open i have replaced the potentiometer with no success and also changed the audio amp transistors. Nothing else has been modded and vr 11 still controls the ssb output. It is avery special radio to me and i need to get it figured out. Can anyone give me any sugjestions as to where to look. thanks in advance:confused:
 

Had someone worked on the radio previously? My guess is that the wires to the mike gain controls are not connected correctly. Find a schematic and trace the wiring to the control.

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
