Cobra 2000 bad on SSB 5KHz up

My friend's Cobra 2000 sounds like it is FM'ing on SSB when she slides up 5 KHz,tx freq is really unstable and varies with modulation.It is fine on the regular channel spacing.It is only happening to the tx audio and her rx is fine.Radio has only had freq. mods and a peak.It happens on both USB and LSB but I think LSB may be worse.I'm going to take a look at it tomorrow.Any ideas on what may be out of whack.VCO maybe? Thanks

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
