My transmit frequency does not match my receive frequency on my external freq. counter on Sideband? I have numerous people tell me that I'm "off freq." when I transmit. I can tune or clarify receive just fine. how and/ or where do I make the adjustment so I can talk and receive on SSB equally?

This is a fairly common problem with older radios. They go out of alignment. So, you will need to send it out to a shop like DTB Radio or Sparky's CB or others.

What has happened is that the VCO, the 1st oscillator and/or the output oscillator are out of sync. I don't recommend doing it yourself. Takes special tools and experience to do a fine job. Most shops will charges about ~$45-$55 for a complete alignment. DON'T ask for a peak and tune; it isn't the same thing. It is in need of some serious work done right; not peaking hacks by hackers!

Here is the Service Manual to give you an idea of what is involved:

Not that hard to do, in fact it is pretty straight forward! But! Unless you know the radio and have done this before, it is totally recommended to bring it to a reputable shop!
There is a total of six adjustment points on the 2000 that have to do with frequency and voice lock and they need to be done in order.... <can not stand it>
