have a couple of these chassis rigs that have random intermittent cutting out on TX and it seems like this is the failure point. i guess there is a NOS electronics joint online that has em at 6 and change a pc. emailed to see if i can get a break on that price if i get like 20.

if anyone has a lead on new new parts that would be a drop in replacement, im all ears

That seems like a good price to me, I have bought a small coil for 18 each from a place that carries Galaxy parts, but that was shipping included. Can't remember the name of that outfit, but I don't think they will be cheaper.

yea, it seems like thats steep for a can with a slug in it. it also seems that CB-specific outlets sell higher than something like mouser or a general parts source

NOS and new parts are getting harder to find these days for radios. This trend will continue as the manufacturing demand for through hole type components drops everyday. If the China pipeline breaks, I doubt the component manufacturers will relocate production to another country for through hole components much, if at all. Their variety of product offerings will be greatly diminished if they do. This started during the pandemic and I have seen product lines continually going obsolete and production ceasing. Ranger is so desperate now for through hole components to build radios with that they are starting to use small adapter boards with SMD mounted components in many of their current production radios. The components we have all taken for granted that they would be readily available for the past several decades will be disappearing from the big supply house shelves sooner than most people think.

  • @ Hambones amps:
Does anyone know if you can replace the 2290 in a galaxy dx 93t twin turbine with a 2sc2879 red dot? If so, what would have to be tuned?
  • @ ShadowDelaware:
Hambones the entire amp section would have to be retuned, and the rf transformers re wrapped.
