I picked up this Cobra 29LTD classic (mfg. date 04') for free. It had no transmit when I got it so I replaced the stock final (c2076) with a working one from a 29+ (c2166). It will now transmit but there is no audio. I have tried 3 different mics and mic plugs.

Is there something else I can look for? I'm rather stumped here.

Plug in a known good external speaker and see if the P.A. is working, if not, replace the

audio chip, (TA7102) I believe.....Mac

I had the same problem with my Cobra 89XLR, only one of my many mics will work with it, it is very picky, try adjusting the Knob thats says, "Dynamic" to a higher volume even if its not a Dynamic....

Thanks guys. I found the problem....turns out the Dynamic knob was gummed up inside. Sprayed a little contact cleaner in it and she's back to transmitting....WITH audio!

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
