Recently aquired a cobra 29 ltd classic, i tryed aligning the frequecy and it doesnt lock like example 27.1850 the 18 stays on zeros and cant lock it in any help would be great.

I have my frequency counter and antenna installed.

are you checking the freq at the antenna jack? if so you do this with out any modulation so it does not try to jump around when you talk. turn the mic gain all the way down. not sure just what you are doing.

There are no mods,

here is the service manual. go to the TX section at the bottom and look at item 4 on how to set the radio on freq. I said check with no modulation not radio Mods as you replied. 2 seperate animals there.

Thaks for your help but i have tried that the issue is will not not go any futher stays in the27.300 on channel 19 will not adjust anymore

have you ran the PLL alignment to see if all is right in that area? what reading do you show at the 10.240 crystal/

here is a list of all the voltages but I was talking about just the alignment portion of the PLL in the service manual I left you a few post above this one.

now i lost tx power but the tx red light comes on on key up strange radio

Cant get modulation and power back will have to do more troubleshooting

You probably lost transmit power because the PLL went out of lock. You need to listen to what Sonoma is telling you and do a good alignment
