anyone know where the other end of the orange wire goes
was brought in not working and had this wire just loose
not even taped up
thinking it needs to be resoldered somwehere

this is a 88 model phillipine 29
with side mic of course

i am thinking it does not belong ,i looked at 3 newer 29`s and theres nothing like that near the so239 antenna connector.the 29`s design has not changed much over the years .
could be a mod of some kind .anyone else???

on the inside of radio looks to be hooked or soldered to tr23
but the other end is just loose

talks good and receive is good
cant finger out why this floating wire

TR23 is the 2SC1096 voltage regulator. if the radio is functioning normally and the other end of the wire is not connected then just remove it. someone may have had the 8V tapped to power some noise toy or other aftermarket add-on.
