Well, this was a joke. I don't know who wrote the alignment procedure for this model radio but I thought I would share my frustration of wasting a few hours.
The procedure says (TP3) output tx mode.... attach your scope to the junction of R6 and JP14 junction and adjust L16 on the scope for max.
Really?? because R6 is a 1K and connects to C5 and the base of TR4 on one side and the emitter of TR4 and R5 junction on the other....still couldn't locate JP14 on the PCB layout or schematic. lol

Then for transmitter adjust (TP4) it says to hook your scope to R46 and R47 junction to adjust L18, L17 for max on scope.
Really?? because R46 and R47 are not even close to one another. .I am thinking they meant to say C47 not R47. R46 is a 47 ohm and it junctions at C47 a 0.01uf cap
You can look at the Cobra 29 LX LE PCB layout or schematic and see.......ok feeling a little better now :)

if it was on CBtricks, then you got CB tricked LOL.

You see, there is a big mistake in one of the 29LTD alignment procedures listed on their page, and that mistake is that it's actually the alignment procedure for the 25LTD LMAO.

yep.

check out these links. First one is the one on the 29LTD page that just says "29LTD".
scroll through the manual and you end up at the alignment section.
it says its for the 29 but watch this:

http://www.cbtricks.com/radios/cobra/29ltd_29ltd_st_29wx_st/graphics/cobra_29ltd_sm.pdf

check the alignment procedure on or around page 16, and then compare it to this:
http://www.cbtricks.com/radios/cobra/25ltd/graphics/cobra_25ltd_alignment.pdf

yep.

so, the solution is to use the link that separates the book in to two halves, the second half having the alignment procedure found here:

http://www.cbtricks.com/radios/cobr...st/graphics/29ltd-st_29wx-st_sm_pg12_pg34.pdf

yeah, i know this from getting bit by it many years ago.

Thanks LC. I got it done earlier by wasting a few hours figuring it out without the procedure CB Tricks provided... But I'm sure glad you got the bull dog off my butt so to speak...lol. I will add that to my file. Thank you sir!
