It's been a long time ago. I'm thinking that it was 3-6 db. I am not qualified to give advice on this subject. I'm just now getting back into cb'ing after twenty-five years. There are others on here that would be glad to help. What I would do if I were you would be to do some research and ask around. Get the best antenna that you can afford.
