well I have another problem with my cobra29 classic when I key up sometimes it will not modulate it has a carrier but that's all. key up a couple times and it will take off modulating. mic is a new ranger sra-198 noise cancelling. thanks again every body for any help.looking at threads to see if I can help any body.

Check the wires inside the mic plug; they are very thin and break easily. Common problem. Try a different mic if you have one . . .
a while back a friend bought a new mic and he had the same problem. his was a rk56. after I looked at it I could not duplicate the problem. had him talk on it and the problem was there. the way he would hold the mic he was not keying it all the way. it would have a dead key and no audio. just had him push the button as most people do and it worked just fine. never know how simple a problem can be.
