I was doing a little cleaning in my radio and noticed that I may have moved on these VR adjusters with my swab. Gets a little dusty in there. What do they do and how could I adjust it back? I believe it is the VR 4 that I moved. Does this adjust receiveability (if that's a word)?

Thanks

Thanks for the info SkipJunky. Just curious here, what does the rest of the VRs do? What if I turned the VR4 all the way to the right what would it do?

VR4 is for power (WATTS).
if D11 is cut, then it's just sitting there doing nothing anyway.

VR4 is the AMC adjustment on a Cobra 29/Uniden 78

Disable the AMC.

Disable the AMC.

On the 29, that would actualyl tune the AMC all the way down. Turnign it to the left (counter-clockwise) on the 29/76/78 would max it out. The 25/66/68 radios would be turned up by going clockwise.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
