Cobra 29ltd AM/FM as good as the older AM only?

Looking for thoughts and opinions on the cobra 29ltd classic AM/FM vs the older AM only model. Any pros or cons? Issues with the horrible channel selector they use? Any power/modulation differences? Etc etc

I don't own any but from what I have read the last good 29 was the Philippine made side mike model. I am sure others will add on here.

I believe the only difference is the new one has an FM board added to the AM chassis. That's from looking at the pictures of it. I have not seen them side by side.

100% agree with W9CLL. The last good Cobras were the side mic models produced in the Philippines in the late 1990's/early 2000's.

I like the new 29, a lot of the 80s mobiles have dried out caps a recap would cost more than a new 29. I like the receive and transmit on the new 29s vs the later am only models. If you want to use an expo kit it will NOT work on the am/fm

Also I find no difference between the Phillipenes Korea Tiawan models as far as performance.
