Local here us selling a 32 xlr, I have only seen pictures of one, his is not working and needs to be fixed. How good is a 32 xlr compaired to say a 29? Hows the scan work? Can the be moded to do about 25 watts pep? The guy is damn near giving it to me.

if i remember right this model is from 1978-79 time period,, and is basically the same as one of the president models,,,cant remember which one though,,, when uniden bought president out they stopped being made for the us market, they were one of the first models to come out 40 channels when the expansion happened,,, the owners manual is on the cb tricks site to explain the scan
The 2sc1678 is a low output device rated @ 10w, that is used in this radio according to the schematic:

Sure that there are some shops that can mod the circuit to acommidate a MOSFET final for ~25w..
As far as it not working, didn't see anything on the schematic that couldn't be replaced, so any able shop should be able to fix it.
