I am trying to repair a Cobra 29 LTD Classic for a friend and it jumps down a channel out of the blue while your talking. The last time it did it I took the top cover off and pushed down a little on the board and it went back to the right channel. I got the radio talking great (keys 2 swings 25) but it wont stay on 1 channel. If anyone has advice I'd definately appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

You probably have a broken trace , bad solder joint, or poor ground.
Pushing down on the circuit board and it correcting the problem is your
clue.

got it fixed

I thought a lil more about it and figured it had to be a bad solder joint. So I took the lid off and talked on the 29 for a few days til it started fading down to 17, then I took a pencil eraser and pushed gently around the board til it came back. That told me the general area of the problem and there were a few questionable solder joints. So I broke out the solder gun and resoldered pretty much the whole area and its good to go. A pencil eraser and some hillbilly engineering can work wonders, lol.
Thanks Trucker, hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas
