Searched all the net, found nothin on carrier balance. Ch1 has a carrier of 3/4W, Ch15 has 1 1/4W, Ch25 has 1 3/4W, Ch40 has 2 1/4W. Have done the swing mod ( 100ohm resistor, 35v-470uf) vr5 (not maxed out), only till forward mod gain stops showing.

if you messed with L18 it can throw the power balance off like this.you need to peak the radio output before you do the cap and resister mod. did you adjust L18 with a scope as it says to do?

go to cbtricks.com to check for the service manual to peak the radio

No just the vr5 and cap, resistor mod. Before cap and resis, carrier was 4w,
Ch1-40. I've done these same mods to other 25's with no problems.

I think the slug was messed with, on a 29 its L14 fake ghost watts. If its L18 on a 25, just turn it back in till you see 15w-18w?

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
