These are overlays of these models. Notice the larger antenna showing maximum gain at 8* degrees while the SD'r is at 11* degrees.
This is why I always loved working my Starduster type antennas and she works local too.
In this video I used my Marconi 5x, a homemade 1/4 wave using 5 x 102" inch whips, with an A99 hub for the radials, a mobile L-bracket on a 4' foot pipe attached to my 50' Push Up Pole. These SS 102" whip wires were very light and I had no problem handling it...to mount at close to 50' feet...and it just blew a little in the wind and talked like a big antenna.
Notice on this occasion how quite my radio with pre-amp ON was when receiving NO signal. This antenna could hear crickets.
