I have 2 of these that dont transmit, one transmits on FM only and has no dead key or modulation on AM. The other has no transmit at all on either mode. The regulators are fine, the finals are good. TX RX lights work on both. Any ideas would be great!
 

Could very well be cold solder joints.......common problem in Ranger products including Galaxy and Connex. Mobile radios are especially susceptible to this as they go through a lot of thermal cycling and vibration.........

That radio should get the "most chrome on a mobile" prize by the way ! I need to put on my sunglasses before I look at it :LOL:

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
