I still have my original Uniden Grant XL I purchased in purchased in August 2002.

It is good to be lucky. A few years ago, my next door neighbor found his old Johnson 4740 SSB rig, one of the first 40 channel SSB rigs, in his garage. The conversation went like this.

Neighbor: "I'm not using this. You want it?"

I ran with that radio until it died.
