The 2600 does not have the Programming built in like the 2510 or Lincoln. THe CHipswitch would be the best way.

The chipswitch would not take away any of the 2600's features and would give you continuous tuning from 24.800Mhz to 29.999Mhz

as well as adding 30 Programmable Memory channels and complete Cursor control from the Mic, Up and Dn buttons and VFO knob.

For more Info go to www.chipswitch.com

(I know you already knew that)

You would have to change the 2600 CPU to a 2510/Lincoln CPU Jim, just as much work as installing a ChipSwitch.
