Check out that link,I'm pretty sure that's what its for,but haven't been able to pull one of those radios apart to double check:

If you have one there you could maybe look for that board number in the radio and confirm it.Ithink it stands for double/dual filtre de bande,I may be wrong.

Thanks Jazzy. I'll have the friend put it on CW and work the button and see if changes the receive tone. That will apparently make it a CW filter.

Gonna be there Friday to do some antenna work for him

Don't think it should change the pitch of the received CW note, but it might well change the bandwidth. Probably narrow it to exclude nearby signals. If the radio has RIT, this would be a good place to try it out.

"These Radios do not have CW on them."

Aside from the fact you're responding to a 13 year old thread, it could be made to work like it did. Set the mode to AM or FM, turn down the mic gain, and use the PTT like a code key. Switch it to LSB or USB for receive and you're all set. Yes, it's a PITA, but it could work.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes

Wes, it's better if you start a thread on the main forum, more people are going to see your question.
