Difference between dx and regular?

What is the difference between a dx 2950 and a regular 2950?

the dx is the newer radio, supposed to be a different board. i have had a dx version and have heard that the older 2950's had better rx, less white noise.

i found the same to be so of the 2970 and 2970dx

the scanning speed was increased by about 10x, surface mount, leds inthe display do not burn out like the old lamps. if 1 burns out the all do not burn out. rubber coated knobs. hd voltage regulator. cpus are available for the dx's. easy ctcss boars install.

The older ones covered 26-32 MHz and the newer DX models cover 24-32 MHz so they cover 12m as well as 10 and 11.

The DX is a newer better version. Nothing wrong with the origional though.
