Direct feed vs. Coax fed

Direct feed means NO MATCHING NETWORK. You can direct feed a radiating element (antenna) with coax or balanced line.

The term "coax feed" just means you are feeding the antenna with coax and should not be confused with a "direct feed".

Does your antenna have some sort of matching network (gamma, beta, hairpin, delta, T-match, etc)? If it does, it is not a direct fed antenna.

  • @ Hambones amps:
Does anyone know if you can replace the 2290 in a galaxy dx 93t twin turbine with a 2sc2879 red dot? If so, what would have to be tuned?
  • @ ShadowDelaware:
Hambones the entire amp section would have to be retuned, and the rf transformers re wrapped.
