I found how to get into claibration mode but am not in the know of how to recalibrate for better accuracy on peak readings as it's off on AM peak quite a bit..... Anyone know how to do that once in calibration mode ?

Please reply if you do or can direct me to that answer, 73's Retro

all I could find. maybe give him an e-mail to see if he has a service manual.
did you try ordering the service manual?

To place the meter in the calibration mode, hold down the SWR key while
you plug in the meter's adapter. The meter displays tESt. To return the
meter to normal operation, unplug the adapter, then plug it back in.

Note: Calibration procedures require special equipment and are covered
in the Service Manual, available by special order from your local
RadioShack store.

To order parts call 1-800-843-7422 or visit your local RadioShack store.

Use low power to start and transmit into a known 50 ohm test load, Calibrated if you can find one to borrow. If not available any resistive load close to 50 ohms will work.{ie. 47 ohm carbon composition, not wire wound unless it states it is non inductive.}
If you need one give me a PM I do have one I'm not using.
