Have new setup here. Different radio for more power - Untimely demise of antenna due to water incursion and corrosion in the guts so new antenna as well. Everything seemed basically okay but experienced a bit higher SWR in places and varying power levels than expected. Was fixed with the last thing I tried .... tried different patchcords between radio & tuner. Had an ample supply of different types and lengths of cords. Typical 3 footers of differing types .... 2 ft .... 4ft. Had higher readings with all until I tried the 4 footer. SWR now 1.2 across the antennas full range.
So anytime so you change anything in the TX chain, radio, amp, meter, coax, antenna ..... if experiencing higher than expected SWR that you didn't have before - try different patchcords. Might be your problem.
