i was wondering if having a dosy Frequency counter FC50 or any counter inline though the coax between a radio and linear if it has any affect on the OHMS or any sort of LOSS ?
Take into effect; I'm talking about a counter that goes between the coax not the one that plugs into the back of a radio.

i can't answer your questions , but here's a review of it and a quote from it to keep in mind .

Dosy FC50 Frequency Counter Review

"Before we go further I'd like to make an important point. If you are an operator who runs SSB, an external frequency counter is not going to give you a steady frequency readout of where your are transmitting. Because of the way single side band works the frequency display on an external frequency counter will jump around all over the place as you talk and the frequency shown will change with the pitch of your voice. The only way to get a steady reading is with a tone generator which is not what most CB operators would be looking to do. If you are looking for a frequency counter specifically to track your TX location while in a SSB mode you'll need to buy one that can be hard wired (soldered) to the radio. If you have a SSB radio and are using it in AM mode in conjunction with this counter the Dosy FC-50 will work perfectly."

I got one for my browning and they really suck in my opinion. Cheap conectors and dosent handle much juice. Numbers all over the place. 20 bucks and its yours. If not it stays in my junk box. The other one they make works very good. FC 390 but it has to be hardwired to the radio.

Suspect Operator error

The Dosy FC-50 is a direct reading freq counter, as such, a poor swr or higher reflect will throw off readings or make it impossible to read the tx freq. Try using a dummy load and it will read. Insertion loss is negligible and so is impedance disruption at HF bands. I have the SSB version with tone generator and it is a fantastic little unit that is mounted on top of my 4002-PSW-V.
