In the middle of nowhere. Central/northern Maine
Driving home for lunch today, I decided to flip over to 38 lsb. I ended making contact with a guy down in the Dominican Republic and I'm up in Maine. He said my Uniden Grant was sounding real good, with strong modulation. I was running barefoot through a Wilson 1K in the mobile with my variable power cranked down about 2/3 and mic gain about 1/4. I just got the radio back from a repair at DTB Radio. Pretty darn good for my first radio check.:thumbup:
 

Yupp ironically I was bored and for the hell of it tuned to 27.385.00 and also talked to him out there on the islands. Is number was 860 and he had a great signal he als runs a video gate on youtube he did a few today that I heard him talking about.

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
