Dr. Fox

I used to live 5 miles away from Dr. Fox back when he was doing all of that. I have also talked to him on the radio (locally, he was primarily on ch6 and ch11 at the time but he would sometimes frequent the other local standby channels doing radio checks, and buy/sell select radio equipment with other locals, etc) and also met him a couple times at local swaps. He was running the big Collins transmitter and receiver and his amp(s) were built by a local tech who was learning on the fly at the time and his boxes were not either made right or tuned right, I detected a wavy output pattern on his signal as well, he could not hold a steady carrier. He was running a DBI beam. He would BLEED over on the locals on ch19 and ch22 really bad. He had problems after problems with his amps at that time period and his tech had to come out to his house to repair those (2) 3cx5000's he was running, doing around 13KW he said many times on the air. I don't know what his current situation is as I moved away from that area 6 years ago.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
