Drink it....

Do you ever drink carbonated beverages such as Coke? Look up the ingredients.

For years General motors used to buy coke syrup in bulk.

Why?

They used it as a degrease for their new parts.

Worked better than any other commercial products available and rinsed clean.

Is that true?

I assume the phosphoric acid in the syrup is doing the actual work?

Yes. An old family friend that was a master tool designer when he lived up North used to be allowed into the plant when they would be hiring him to design a new machine to manufacture a new part.

At one time Coke syrup contained a mix of phosphoric and sulfuric acid.

Not to hijack the thread but did you know that if you put tide powdered laundry detergent in boiling water it is an excellent grease stripper as well? It will even remove paint.

we have also used the dishwasher and cascade detergent for years to clean small engine parts.

Got that old Holley 4 bbl apart to rebuild it? Run it through the dishwasher instead of buying the expensive gallon can of parts cleaner. :D

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
