DUMMY LOAD VS. ANTENNA (OUTPUT.)

When the 2340's hooked up to the 1500 watt MFJ dummy load the transmitter shows 1/12 watt dead key and 20 watts pep (swr flat.)
When the dummy load is switched out for the antenna the swr rises to 1.2. The dead key stays at 11/2 Watts. But the pep drops from 20 (watts) to 15.
Is the loss of 5 watts pep (modulated output) normal/common when switching from a dummy load to an antenna?
What's leading me to believe this may not be normal is the dead key 11/2 Watts stays the same weather I'm using the dummy load or the antenna.

It really isn't an issue "so to speak" a number of things could be at play (1) being you're dealing with different reactance and/or (2) capacitance instead of a purely resistive load. Since the radio was most likely tuned on a dummy load.
Very good oldtech03. I was hoping there wasn't an issue. Your answer to my question makes sense. Thank you. 73

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
