Did you put it on a meter with an antenna or a dummy load?
Or are you going by the built-in meter?
If it has that much output; did you try to get a radio check first?
Did you get this radio used or new?
How do you know it wasn't set up to key up low and have a large swing - so as to be used with an amp?

I have had the radio for a while. Before I messed up it would DW @ 2 - 10 then swing to 12-20. Yes I'm going by the meter on the radio. It worked great before. I have replaced the irf520 and it still does same thing. Would I have hurt any other components when I keyed up with no ANT. Stupid mistake on my part. My voice comes thru on the talkback but only squeals on a nearby radio.
