I'm having trouble getting a viagra b board installed in a dx959. The board seems to work fine in AM and. USB but is having a problem on LSB. The freq is on for USB (27.205 MHz at antenna and 15.3625 MHz at TP5 on ch20 ). But on LSB it is messed up (27.210 at antenna and still 15.3625 (instead of 15.3575) at TP5). Anyone got a possible cause other than bad pll on the viagra board?

Its not off by much, are you using these directions?

Yes, that's what I used. It's well beyond what the clarifier can swing and it seems to be adding the freq to lsb instead of subtracting it. It renders it nonfunctional and there are no adjustments that can be make that I can see that will "fix " it other than getting a new chip. I am hoping someone has seen this behavior before and can point me in a new direction or confirm that it is a bad board so I can convince myself to stop wasting time trying to fix it.

I'm a little confused. You did align the viagra board and the radio to specs as specified at the bottom of the cbtricks page, correct?

Yes, followed the alignment procedure line for line. The problem is, or seems to be that the viagra board is outputting the same frequency for LSB as it does for USB (15.36250 MHz instead of what it should be outputting : 15.35750 MHz ) the result being that the freq is way off in. LSB 27.210 MHz on ch 20 instead of 27.205 MHz

Sorry, that should have read 15.36250 and 15.35750
instead of 16.36250 and 16.35750 (fixed it above)

Just to clarify, step 3 on the alignment procedure has you adjust vc1 on the viagra board so that tp5 reads 15.36 mhz on AM ch 20 rx. I complete this step and then switch over to usb. Tp5 now reads 15.36250 and the front panel freq display correctly shows 27.205 mhz. I then switch to lsb and tp5 still reads 15.36250 and the front panel displays 27.210 mhz. My understanding is that if the viagra board was functioning properly on lsb, tp5 would read 15.35750 and the front panel would show 27.205 instead of what it currently shows: 27.210 MHz

If the adjustment points in the radio aren't within range of alignment, I would take the board out and try to realign the radio. This should let you know if its in the viagra board or not. There are other mods for freq expansion for these radios as well.
