Hi Guys
I would like to know how you decode the ser.# on the 10 meter radios.
I have a DX99V and I would like some info by the ser#.

Thanks
Coax kid

R60800005

R = Refurbished
6 = 2006
08 = Aug
00005 = batch number

Radios made after 2000 had serial numbers starting letters:
T = Taiwan
M = Malaysia
S = Shanghai China
D = Another Chinese city I can't spell

Radios made prior to 2000 did not have a letter designation and signified the year with the first digit:
9 = 1999
8 = 1998
7 = 1997
6 = 1996
5 = 1995
4 = 1994
3 = 1993
2 = 1992
1 = 1991
0 = 1990

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
