I really hate being a pest lately with all the questions. I'm usually able to figure th3ese things out on my own. But THIS one has me stumped. I want to use my M-1 Reference yaesu mic on my Stryker 955. Now, to preface this, I used a Turner +3 on my FT-990 before I purchased the M-1. The Turner only required 3 connections to work on the Yaesu. So, I want to make a short adapter to go from the 8 pin Yaesu to the 4 pin Stryker. Should be simple, huh? NO! I
The pinouts are:
Yaesu; ( skipping channel selectors)
8 = audio
7 = shield
6 = PTT
Stryker;
1 = Audio
2 = Shield
3 = PTT
4 = Receive ( radio does receive with no mic plugged)
So!! I connected 1 Stryker to 8 Yaesu
Then connected 2 Stryker to 7 Yaesu
Then connected 3 Stryker to 6 Yaesu
She doesn't transmit. So I tried using the receive wire to shield, to PTT, Nothing. The only way I can trigger the transmit is to SHORT 7 and 6 on the yaesu plug. What am I missing, here?? I tried all the other pins on the yaesu receptacle with no love. Shorting 6 and 7 is the only way to trigger TX.
