I have one on the way, but I was told that i would need a power suppily to run it. Is this true? I have a 3amp power suppily, will this be big enough? The radio is an EEI turbo tune.

Re: Feayures Pros & Cons,,,Galaxy DX 2527 Base

Beautiful radio------No complaints really.I talk AM mostly and although I have the means to flip a switch, I'm able to get back 75% of the time(and this with the stock mike)without it. Planning on getting a Turner+3 next week. This bad boy is complimented by an I-max2000 and Maco 3 element beams.

I've had my DX2527 for over a year now and I still love it. Never had any problems with it at all. Attached to my ABS1600 ontop of a 70' tree it talks all over the world.

Why does the Galaxy 2527& 2517 look exactly like the Texas Ranger 696F-SSB? Do they get the boxes from the same company, or are the "guts" similar?

Re: Feayures Pros & Cons,,,Galaxy DX 2527 Base

range rider, you have one on the way from EEI,all i can say is

good luck, also you should have checked into that TT mod, before you flushed your hard earned bucks.ofcourse this

is just my opinions.but have heard reputable techs say that it

doe's not do all that the vendor claims, and might even shorten the

life of your radio.

The 2527 is made by ranger and sold by galaxy. It uses the same board as the old 2950. Since they no longer produce the ept295013z board it uses they have discontinued the 2527 along with all the other ranger radios that use this board. The 2517 is basically a galaxy 88 in base form but uses a newer board. An upgrade of the old one.
