Feeler Post : Looking for Palomar Skipper / Cobra / Galaxy 200 or 350 XL amplifier or its variants.

Nice! I did get lucky finding it. I also lucked out and snagged a Palomar Skipper yesterday around noon. :) So both amps hopefully will show up sometime next week or the following. I think both boards may be different inside (The Magnum 2000 being older.), but overall the same idea.

So for now. I have to hold off on getting anything CB related for a few months lol. :P
we always say that lol

this was pulled from a junk pile, tech got it workin. has at least 5 hours of talk time since. long winded, driving with 2-3w ssb and getting just shy of 100. glued 4 minifans together for when i start a qso. no noise or rf, temp stays under 100°. you must have found it on ebay when i wasn't looking for one :)

Nice amp. Assuming you have a true peak reading watt meter on SSB I would run 8-12 watts PEP into it. It will loaf along at that drive level and run perfectly.

I set my old 146 GTL to 10 watts PEP on SSB, and I believe just under 2 watts AM deadkey doing no more than 8 watts PEP.

I fell victim of that today. :D Bought a Cobra 250 amp that is a rebadged Messenger M250. But the deal was too good to pass for $85 + shipping. Apparently it only works on the high setting, and the other 2 settings it doesnt output anything. Looks like the resistors seen some power and look a little burnt up. A cleaning of the selector and replacing the resistors should bring the amp back to life. :)

Does anyone know if you can replace the 2290 in a galaxy dx 93t twin turbine with a 2sc2879 red dot? If so, what would have to be tuned?
