After trying to get my 142 into service, channel 20 near Tampa got busy. I got three stations to come back.
I was using a Cobra CA-60 Desk mic, 1/2 up, my mic gain at 50%, and a dead key of 2watts, with a swing to almost 20. They said I was about 2 Db over the noise, which was in the red. My modulation is set right at 100+%.
I'm using a Firestick II on a magnet mount, with a steel STOP sign for a ground plane. I might just drop it out the window, as it is dark, and maybe won't be seen.
I can't wait for my lease to expire, so I can get my own place! Maybe an Antron....
